NIKA Project Space at the Upcoming Menart Fair in September 2023 (15 - 17 of September). 9 Place d’Iéna, 75116, Paris

NIKA Project Space is proud to announce its participation in the MENA Art Fair, scheduled to take place in September of this year. We will feature the captivating works of two exceptional talents: Fatma Al Ali and Adrian Pepe.

The Menart Fair is renowned for celebrating the rich diversity and cultural heritage of the Middle East and North Africa region through the medium of art. As an esteemed participant, NIKA Project Space is set to make a lasting impact with the thought-provoking and innovative creations of these artists.

Fatma Al Ali (b.1994, UAE) is a multidisciplinary artist who explores diverse themes such as perception, materiality, memory, weight, and tension in her artwork. She examines societal constraints and the human condition while paying close attention to the form and texture of her creations. Her approach is marked by a delicate balance between strength and delicacy, and she often challenges conventional notions of what materials can be used for.

Textile Beirut-based artist Adrian Pepe explores the Awassi sheep, bred in the Levantine region for over five-thousand years, as culture and identity that he weaves into his creations. This animal is a central figure in the human narrative, traditionally within the contexts of biblical fables and ritualistic practices of Abrahamic religions. Adrian’s work focuses on craftsmanship from an aesthetic, ecological, sociocultural and methodological perspectives. His integrated approach interweaves nature and culture through performance, creating objects as tools to enable an open discourse on materiality, our morphing cultural landscape, and present condition. Through the process of spinning, weaving, braiding, and felting, the wool is transformed into artefacts laden with perspiration and emotions, mythologies and symbolism.

We cordially invite you to join us at Menart Fair in September, where you can experience the awe-inspiring artworks of Fatma al Ali and Adrian Pepe firsthand. This event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of artistic brilliance, cultural diversity, and creative expression.

Stay tuned for further updates and detailed information about NIKA Project Space’s participation in the Menart Fair. Make sure to mark your calendars and prepare to be captivated by works of these two remarkable artists.
