’Entangled Matters 2.0’ is a public art installation and exhibition featuring the works of fiber artist Adrian Pepe.

This event is made possible by Lamia Choucair in collaboration with the Sursock Palace Association and also included a culinary performance by multi-disciplinary artist and chef Zeina Hamady.

For the outdoor installation, artist enveloped a building facade, affected by the port explosion, in hand-felted wool textile produced in Lebanon. Felt, one of the oldest textile-making processes, historically served purposes such as shelter, clothing, and wound healing. This artistic gesture reveals the latent potential of this indigenous material, offering a message of repair and resurgence. It draws parallels between the urban and human body.

Inside the wrapped building, the exhibition featured a series of wall hangings, inflated sculptures, and performances exploring themes of post-nature, reflecting on hybrid codes and entanglements with other-than-human agents that define our current era.

Villa des Palmes is part of the Sursock Palace domain. Originally built by the Sursock family in the mid-1860s as stables and accommodation, it exemplifies Beirut townhouse architecture of that period. A modern extension designed by architect Jacques Ligier-Bellair was added a century later. Despite heavy damage from the Beirut Port explosion, the building is currently undergoing extensive restoration efforts.
